The BASICS Hertfordshire team are all strong advocates for teaching and training.  We are therefore proud to announce that we are trialling a ‘Paramedic mentoring’ scheme from late 2018.

If you are a paramedic hoping to undertake an Masters-level qualification in a subject relevant to pre-hospital care, we know that you often need a nominated mentor. Our team may agree to take you on in a ‘Clinical Observer’ capacity, which gives you the opportunity to attend BASICS jobs with a doctor and apply your university education in trauma physiology, critical care procedures and senior scene management, with direct supervision from a qualified BASICS member.

In addition to this, we are looking to expand the teaching we offer to the ambulance service and local hospitals and wish to recruit a suitable healthcare professional to help us organise future events. If you are a technician, paramedic or junior doctor (minimum 4 years post qualification if a doctor) and wish to apply for this role, please send a CV and supporting statement to teaching@basics-herts.org.uk. Closing date for applications is 20/10/2018.
