David Gaunt

David studied Medicine at The Middlesex Hospital Medical School, and qualified in 1988. He has been a member of BASICS since 2001, first  becoming Treasurer and then Chair of BASICS London. He works as an Emergency Medicine Consultant at Watford General Hospital, where he is also the Chief Clinical Information Officer for the Trust. Davids’ interest in pre-hospital care started when he worked as a flight doctor for Londons’ Air Ambulance in 2000. His particular interest is in pre-hospital trauma care. He is the co-founder and current Chair of BASICS-Hertfordshire.


Asher.jpgAsher Lewinsohn

Asher qualified from Bart’s & The London School of Medicine and Dentistry in 2007 and joined BASICS-Herts in 2017. He has a strong interest in medical education and prehospital care and is currently director of training and senior medical officer for Edgware Hatzola emergency ambulance services. Further to that, Asher is also an advanced life support instructor and medical director for the Resus council UK, as well as being an instructor for the European Paediatric Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support courses as well. Asher just completed a year as a full time flight doctor for Essex and Herts air ambulance service and is currently working as an Anaesthetics and Intensive care consultant for Luton and Dunstable NHS teaching hospitals. Asher currently holds the MRCS and FRCA qualifications and in January 2020 Asher also went on to complete his Dip IMC as well. This was complimented in 2018 when Asher was awarded a BCA (British Citizen Award) for services to healthcare and community for his time and dedication to the world to prehospital care. Asher is the current Deputy Chair for BASICS Hertfordshire.


Jasmit Mohindru

Jasmit trained at Barts and The London in Whitechapel, qualifying in 2008. He is an Emergency Medicine registrar, currently flying full time on Kent Surrey and Sussex’s Air Ambulance, and an event doctor at Wembley Stadium. He previously worked as a fellow on the Wales Air Ambulance and a crowd doctor for Stevenage FC. Jas is an Advanced Trauma Life Support instructor, with specialist interests in PHEM, teaching and in major incident management. Along with David Gaunt, he founded BASICS Herts in 2014 and is currently the Vice-Chair and Treasurer for the Charity.
